We partnered with Boomi to create a customer case study video showcasing their work with HEB Construction, also part of Vinci Construction, one of New Zealand’s leading civil construction companies.

The goal was to take a complex technology story and turn it into something clear, engaging and human. Rather than focusing solely on platforms, integrations and technical capability, the case study explores the relationship between Boomi and HEB, the challenges HEB needed to solve, and the real-world impact technology has had across the organisation.

Working closely with both teams, we developed the story from initial interviews and pre-production through to filming and post-production. Our approach centred on conversations with the people involved, supported by footage of HEB's teams and operations to give the technology story a tangible, real-world context.

The result is a case study that communicates Boomi's technical capabilities while keeping the focus firmly on the people and business outcomes behind the technology.

Turning complex technology into a human story

One of the biggest challenges with technology case studies is making them accessible.

The people making purchasing decisions may understand the business problem, but they do not necessarily need, or want, a video filled with technical terminology. At the same time, the content needs enough substance to resonate with technical audiences who understand the complexity of the solution.

Our role is to find the story sitting between those two worlds.

For the Boomi and HEB case study, we focused on the challenges HEB faced, how the relationship developed, the solution that was implemented and, most importantly, what changed for the business as a result.

This allowed us to create a story that could speak to both technical and executive audiences without losing the authenticity of the people involved.

Why customer case study videos matter

For technology companies like Boomi, a strong customer case study provides something traditional marketing cannot: proof.

Instead of simply explaining what a platform is capable of, a case study allows an existing customer to demonstrate how that technology works inside a real organisation.

This is particularly valuable in enterprise technology, where purchasing decisions can involve multiple stakeholders, longer sales cycles and significant operational risk.

A well-produced case study can help build trust, simplify complex solutions and give prospective customers a relatable example of what successful implementation looks like.

It also creates a valuable sales enablement asset that can be used across websites, presentations, social media, events and direct conversations with prospective customers.

Our approach to technology case study production

At Create X Wonder, we don't approach case studies as corporate interviews with some B-roll added over the top.

We spend time understanding the companies, the technology, the relationship and the outcome before deciding how the story should be told.

For Boomi and HEB Construction, that meant developing a clear narrative before filming, interviewing the people closest to the project, and capturing supporting footage that visually connected the technology story with HEB's wider operations.

That understanding allows us to ask better questions, identify the strongest parts of the story and turn detailed technical conversations into content that feels natural rather than scripted or overly promotional.

The Boomi x HEB Construction case study is a great example of what we aim to achieve with B2B and technology storytelling: real people, real partnerships and real business outcomes, communicated in a way that is easy to understand.
